Symphogen’s expertise lies in the development of recombinant human polyclonal antibodies. The Company is developing its own pipeline of products, and also seeks to establish co-development and marketing partnerships with other biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies around its products and its proprietary antibody discovery and manufacturing platforms.

Symphogen currently has partnerships with Biovitrum, Meiji Seika Kaisha and Genentech.

Symphogen’s proprietary technology is unique, because treatment options can be created for complex antigens that cannot be addressed by a single monoclonal antibody. However, the Symplex™ and Sympress™ technologies are not just limited to polyclonal antibodies; they can be used to create monoclonal antibodies, as well. Symphogen’s technology is independent of hybridoma technology, phage display, or directed evolution. Instead, Symphogen’s technology is able to generate recombinant antibodies which mimic the affinity, diversity, and specificity of the human immune response. As a result of this proprietary position, there are no royalty stacking issues when partnering with Symphogen's technology.
