Symphogen operates within research, early clinical stages and CMC biologics development from research to market. Applying highly efficient antibody platform and capabilities in the discovery and early development of differentiated antibody therapeutics, the aim is to develop novel compounds either as combination or as stand-alone therapies for difficult to treat cancers.

As Symphogen’s new Finance Manager, your main responsibilities will include providing accurate and reliable financial reporting, ensure compliance and last but not least to drive the performance of the Finance function including team management. Hence, you will have 4 employees reporting directly to you and you will become a part of a leadership team consisting of 10 – 12 colleagues across the organization.

More specifically your tasks will include – but are not limited to:

  • Provide financial analysis on plans, targets, and business drivers
  • Financial risk management
  • Provide input to management reports and board meetings, incl. cash flows
  • Process owner for Finance SOPs and instructions
  • Support the development of the financial accounting functions
  • Ensure compliant financial closing and reporting
  • Ensure development and implementation of appropriate accounting policies (IFRS) and internal controls
  • Manage the preparation of external and internal audits and follow up on the implementation of recommendations
  • Manage cashflow planning process and ensure funds availability
  • Implement group standard processes and best practices
  • Monitor & report on the overall performance of the Finance function
  • Organize, lead, and develop the local Finance team

You should expect approx. 10 travel days pr. year.

Your profile:

We expect you to hold a relevant educational degree as well as a background from auditing perhaps from Big 4 (international, Top Tier, Biotech/Pharma clients). You have a strong financial profile based on +10 years of experience from Finance either as a Financial Controller or Group Controller (who is now ready for the next move) or as Finance Manager – preferably from an international company where you have been close to the subsidiaries. Previous experience from biotech/pharma is preferred but not required.

You have a high degree of business and technical proficiency, and your “toolbox” includes solid experience with reporting, compliance, budgeting and forecasting.

You are a strong and motivating person that leads the way by example. You are able to motivate and develop your team so that they thrive.

As a person you are positive, outgoing and you have strong interpersonal and communication skills. You are reliable, proactive, structured – and are not afraid of being hands-on.

Other requirements:

  • Fluent in Danish and English (written & spoken)
  • Strong IT skills and preferably knowledge of one/more of the following systems: Power BI, HFM and Business Central.
