Symphogen has entered an exciting phase as an Antibody Center of Excellence for Servier with a continued focus on the discovery and early development of novel antibody-based therapeutic products for the treatment of cancer and other diseases. To help us on this mission we have an open position as Principal Technician in Antibody Technology. In that role you will be responsible for screening new innovative antibody-based drug candidates from both in-vivo and in-vitro repertoire generation workflows.
A big part of the work is centered around high-throughput techniques to ensure timely delivery of candidates for protein characterization and functional screening. You will be part of the Molecular Biology group and responsible for gene cloning and expression of antibodies and other proteins in mammalian cells, followed by biosensor or ELISA characterization. The work is carried out in close collaboration with technicians and academics in the team. The desired candidate has solid experience with molecular biology techniques and recombinant protein expression in mammalian cells and is experienced with work involving automated workflows and many different subprocesses at the same time.
Responsibilities include
- Molecular biology methods for cloning in-vivo/in-vitro antibody libraries
- Semi-automated recombinant protein expression in mammalian cells
- Maintenance of cell lines for transfection and screening
- Drive implementation of new technologies in the laboratory
- Molecular Biology laboratory responsible
- Sample Management Super-User (Tanaros)
- Electronic lab book documentation
Qualifications
- Education as a laboratory technician or equivalent
- More than 10 years of research and development experience from the pharmaceutical industry or biotech
- Solid experience with molecular biology techniques
- Solid experience with protein expression in mammalian cells
- Experience with the use of robots and automation equipment
- Solid experience with Sample Management systems
- User-level IT skills (Word, Excel)
- Good language skills in Danish and English
- Excellent collaboration skills & good humor, high commitment, well-organized, and meticulous
Additional qualifications
Candidates with one or more of the following additional qualifications are also highly sought after:
- Experience with Biacore (SPR) or Octet (BLI) biosensor antibody characterization
- Experience with flow cytometry (FACS)
