Scientist for the Cell Culture Team (2-year temporary position)

In this role you will be working with development of the Symphogen cell lines and upstream processes. The upstream development tasks will consist of both hands-on in-house process development and tech transfer of upstream processes to external CMOs. The -in-house development work in the lab occasionally includes work during a weekend. You will be allocated across key projects with possibility for a high degree of cross-functional collaboration with your colleagues in Denmark and in France as well as with partners at external CMOs.

The Cell Culture team is part of the Drug Substance Development department, and all development work will be done in close cooperation with the technicians and scientists in this department.

Area of responsibilities:

  • Upstream process development
    • Planning of experiments
    • Hands-on execution of cell culture processes in laboratory-scale
    • Documentation of development work / writing of development reports

 

  • Technical transfer to CMO’s and oversight of outsourced activities
    • Keeping manufacturing documents updated
    • Review and approve batch documentation
    • Participate in trouble shooting and documenting quality incidents

 

  • Support writing and keeping regulatory documentation up to date
  • Optimization of processes and workflows in the laboratory

 Qualifications

  • You have a Master’s degree; or another qualifying academic/scientific degree supported by relevant experience; within pharmaceuticals, biologics or similar
  • You are experienced with mammalian cell culture processes from the laboratory.
  • Strong communication and language skills, written and verbal (English)
  • Self-driven, highly motivated, team player with commitment, initiative and humor

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with development of cell culture manufacturing processes
  • Experience with outsourcing/CDMO collaborations
  • Experience with laboratory bioreactors (AMBR15, AMBR250 and/or 10L /50L single use bioreactors)
  • Experience with using DoE in process development
  • Experience with cell culture in manufacturing scale
  • Experience with regulatory documentation
