In the department Analytical Development, we contribute to advancing our targets through lead selection, clinical development and commercialization. As Senior Scientist, you will be a key player in an interdisciplinary project team. Your main responsibilities will be development of analytical methods for testing of monoclonal antibodies and presenting high-quality analytical data and interpretation hereof to facilitate science-driven decisions within the team. As a team member, you will participate actively as subject matter expert to advance analytical control strategies, CQA lists, risk assessments, troubleshooting and many other aspects of CMC development. Through this empowerment you will work in cross-functional collaboration with colleagues from other departments in Symphogen, Servier and at CMOs. You will be directly involved in testing of samples from across our research and development programs in support of lead selection (early target screening to lead developability assessment), process development as well as providing support for stability studies and formulation development. You will be responsible for maturing internal analytical methods prior to transfer to CMOs as well as supporting phase-appropriate GMP activities such as validation and troubleshooting. You will also be a key player within the analytical support team, where you will continuously contribute to innovate and advance our analytical capabilities and workflows in close collaboration with team scientists and technicians. The analytical lab is equipped to cover all aspects of protein testing incl. (U)HPLCs, MS, iCIEF, CE-SDS, MFI, CD, ELISA, DSC, DLS, MALS, and we are seeking a versatile scientist with knowledge within the field of analytical testing of biologics.
The successful candidate is self-driven, highly motivated and thrives in a busy and diverse working environment. You can prioritize and organize work assignments and processes in a lean manner, both independently as well as in smaller teams. Experience with analytical testing of biologics is a requirement and experience from late-stage development and launch is an advantage. You will be working in a non-GMP environment, but knowledge about GMP is favorable. Experience with large data sets, as well as with programming languages such as Python or R, is also considered an advantage.
Required Qualifications
- Relevant education as cand.pharm., cand.scient., cand.polyt. or equivalent
- Experience with testing of biopharmaceuticals (e.g., HPLC, iCIEF, CE-SDS)
- Strong communication and language skills, written and verbal (English)
- Experience with CMC development
- Experience with development and validation of analytical methods
- Self-driven, highly motivated, team player with commitment, initiative, and humor
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience from late-stage development projects and launch
- Experience with CMO/CRO collaboration
- Experience with programming languages (e.g., Python, R, JMP)
