Senior Scientist for protein-protein studies in Antibody Discovery

Symphogen has entered an exciting phase as an Antibody Center of Excellence for Servier with a continued focus on the discovery and early development of novel antibody-based therapeutic products for the treatment of cancer and autoimmune diseases. To strengthen our mission the Antibody Technology team has a new opening for a senior scientist. We are seeking a person with strong dedication and motivation for protein-protein interaction studies to support the growing size and complexity of our antibody portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct innovative research in the field of antibody discovery, with a focus on protein-protein interaction studies, including binding kinetics, affinity, epitope, and mechanism of action
  • Design and execute experiments to characterize and optimize antibody-antigen interactions in a high-throughput setting by Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) and Biolayer Interferometry (BLI)
  • Utilize state-of-the-art technologies and methodologies to advance the understanding of antibody function and efficacy
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate findings into broader research initiatives supporting advancement of programs and platform development
  • Work together with laboratory technicians, ensuring good collaboration and continuous development opportunities

Qualifications

Minimum requirements

  • D. in Immunology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biophysics or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of industry experience within drug discovery
  • Highly skilled in protein-protein interaction studies, preferably with a focus on antibody discovery using SPR or other orthogonal methods such as BLI, ITC, or Kinexa
  • Experience with analyzing large data sets and interpret as well as communicate data within interdisciplinary project teams
  • Strong publication record

Relevant skills/competencies

  • Experience with techniques such as phage display, yeast display, or related technologies
  • Experience with high-throughput workflows and liquid handling
  • Experience in molecular biology, protein expression and protein purification
  • Experience with analyzing protein structure–function relationships, visualizing protein interactions and protein modelling methods
  • Ability to lead and collaborate in a team-oriented environment
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills
