Technician for Analytical Characterization laboratory

In the Analytical Characterization team, employed by 4 scientists and 4 technicians, we are responsible for analytical support to the research area during their lead selection process, and for further characterization studies during the CMC development phase to support e.g. cell line generation, drug substance process development, formulation development, In-use/compatibility as well as conducting comparability studies. In addition, the team is responsible for two laboratories, the Biophysical characterization laboratory and the Mass spectrometry laboratory, the latter in which this position is located. The MS laboratory is equipped with a high-end mass spectrometry platform based on the Orbitrap technology e.g. Ascend and Exploris. The MS platforme is coupled to most separation techniques (liquid chromatography and capillary electrophoresis (ZipChip)) and is using state-of-the-art Protein Metrics software (Byosphere Enterprise) for MS data mining.

As an ideal candidate you have experience with running High Performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and Mass spectrometry analysis of proteins on both the intact and peptide level. Additionally, experience with several of the following analytical techniques would be Preferred: Capillary electrophoresis (CE-SDS) or imaging capillary isoelectric focusing (iCIEF), concentration determination (SoloVPE), dynamic light scattering (DLS), subvisible particle measurements (MFI and FlowCam), viscosity (Initium One) and, nano-differential scanning fluorimetry (Prometheus).

Required Qualifications

  • Relevant education as technician (Laborant, Bioanalytiker) or equivalent
  • Experience with biochemical characterization
  • Experience with HPLC and MS analysis incl data evaluation of proteins, preferably antibodies
  • Self-driven, highly motivated team player with commitment, initiative and humor 

Preferred Qualification

  • Experience with biophysical and/or general testing techniques for proteins, e.g. concentration, CE-SDS/iCIEF, subvisible particles, NanoDSF, DLS etc.
  • Experience with developability assessment of antibodies
  • Experience with Chromeleon
  • Language skills: written and verbal (English)
